Artistic Challenge 2014

 We will be having an Artistic Challenge for 2014.  

  • Each month will have a theme.  
  • Entries need to be in before the 21st of each month.
  • 1 entry per person.
  • A person locally will choose the winning entry at the end of the month.
  • The winning entry will be sent a prize.  Prize may be a charcoal set, small water color set, a pencil set (regular, colored, water etc in possibilities), could be a couple of small canvases.  Etc.  
  • The prize will be announced at end month as well.  You may find yourself with extra that you normally use or an expansion starter on your artistic skill sets.
  • For PTSD entries only.  Military, Police types, and Emergency Service people.
Remember:  
  • Each entry needs to have the same submission requirements as for posting any and all works on this site.  
  • For the challenge please add in header that it is a "Challenge Entry".
Check back here at the beginning of each month to find out what the next challenge is.  

An art work can be any of the following except Photography itself and is not limited to the following: water color, acrylic, oil, graphite, sculpture, mixed media, computer pixel art, as well as many other styles and compositions.

How To get your Works Displayed here.

This blog is to showcase the Art Works of those who suffer with PTSD through Military, Police, and Emergency Services people.

To show a different face and light to what people go through with PTSD.  It can be light, delightful, and awe inspiring.  It can be dark, gruesome and horrifying.  Art work is a type of therapy for some, an escape for others.  It may be something you did years ago and possibly something you can get back into.  There is no judging here.

Art works pictures should be:

  • Water Paint
  • Acrylic Paint
  • Oil Paint
  • Graphite pictures
  • Carvings
  • Sculpture
  • Pottery
These are just a few ideas.  We are not accepting Photography in it's own medium.  


To showcase art work please e-mail the following information to raseely@shaw.ca:

  • In title of email mark with Entry for PTSD Art Blog
  • Proof of service with Military (past or present, reservist included), Police Force (RCMP), Emergency Services....having PTSD (proof here is not required).
  • On your entry the picture should have your name and your e-mail address on it.  
  • Which country you are from.
  • Referring page or group if any.  
Validation of Duty proof needs to be confirmed before display.
